School Ethos
The Ethos of St Joseph's is best summed up by the words of one of our children that we have adopted as our motto- 'Faith, Friendship and Learning for Life.'
Our Mission statement is;
“Inspired by Christ and His teaching, the mission of St Joseph's Primary School is to welcome, educate, nurture and celebrate the unique nature and worth of every member of its diverse and equal family; enabling each person to shine and reach their full potential , so with confidence they can make their marvellous mark on the world.”
St Joseph’s Primary School will always be concerned with creating a caring, Christian community in which every member feels valued, supported and happy. As we seek to gain Rights Respecting School status, the UN Convention is at the heart of our ethos. Article 28 states we have the right to an education and all staff will strive to provide an ethos in which fairness, tolerance, compassion and forgiveness permeate all relationships within the school community. Staff morale is high and high standards of respect, self-discipline, commitment and sensitivity is sought and everyone is encouraged to set and achieve the highest personal, academic and social goals. The safety, welfare and development of everyone in our school community will be of paramount importance to all staff -teaching and non-teaching.
