Starting back - September/October 2015
We are off to a great start and are learning lots of new things. Our topic this term is Victorians and we have found out so many amazing facts about Victorian life. We have created biographies and charcoal sketches of Queen Victoria for display in our classroom and we found we are all very artistic. We have based our class novel ‘Street Child’ on our Victorians topic and we are totally engrossed in the story of Jim Jarvis! We are constantly hanging on the edge of our seat with the story and the events throughout.
In our Literacy lessons we have been developing our independent writing skills through various different genres. We were particularly good at recount writing and producing a news report based on Street Child.
Numeracy has been very exciting and we are trying hard to develop our mental maths skills through many fun games and activities. Our favourites are the 24 game and Countdown. We needed a bit of practice at the start but now we can use many of our problem solving strategies along with mental maths strategies to find the solution.
Come back soon to find out what else we have been getting up to.
